Local notes; this Friday evening at 7pm in the Limerick City Gallery will see the official launch of the eva 'matters' OPEN/ INVITED catalogue of the 2010 exhibition recently curated by E. Hatz and featuring among others work by several Limerick Architects. (This is followed on Saturday by a Family Drawing Day from 11:30 to 3pm at the 'Hub' on Catherine Street - all welcome...)
16.03.2010 AAI Architecture Awards Exhibition, Limerick
The Official Opening of the aai Awards 2009 Exhibition at St Munchin's Church, Church St., King's Island- is on the 16th March at 7:30pm, with additional viewing on the following Saturday and Sunday. The event is organised by sofa the society of architecture based at the University of Limerick.
09.02.2010 Photographing Georgian Limerick
The photographers:
Kieran Clancy. Architectural photographer. He lives in Limerick.
Sean Lynch. Born in Kerry in 1978. He lives in Limerick and Berlin. He was recently artist in-residence at the Irish Museum of Modern Art. Exhibitions include the Gallery of Photography, Dublin, Limerick City Gallery of Art and Galway Arts Centre.
Eamonn O'Mahony. Professional Photographer since 1988. He maintains a studio in London and includes leading architectural firms among his clients. Lives and works in London and Limerick.
Deirdre Power. Born in Limerick in 1963. She lives and works in Georgian Limerick. Exhibitions include The Phatory, New York, The Belltable Arts Centre Limerick and ev+a.
Located in Limerick City Gallery of Art in 2008 the exhibition had a mainly local audience. Moving to Dublin will not only allow the photographs have a broader audience but Georgian Limerick will be seen and defined within a national framework. This will be encouraged by a series of lunchtime lectures.
The lectures will be held at the Irish Architectural Archive from 1.15 to 2.00pm

Judith Hill is an architectural historian and co-curator of the exhibition.
Thursday 18 February 2010. Tracy Staunton, ‘Does Space Remember? The visible and invisible city'.
Tracy Staunton is an artist who has made investigations into and interventions in Dublin since 1997.
Thursday 25 February 2010. Hugh Campbell, ‘The Urban Portrait'.
Dr Hugh Campbell is Professor of Architecture at UCD School of Architecture, Landscape & Civil Engineering.
15.01.2010 Simon Open Day
The RIAI and the Simon Communities of Ireland are delighted to announce that, for the first time, the 2010 Simon Open Door event will be held over a weekend: Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 April 2010.
Please keep these dates free in your diary for a consultation with Feeney McMahon Architects. To date, the RIAI have raised over €158,000 helping Simon provide innovative solutions to end homelessness. More details will follow closer to the date...

Feeney McMahon Architects Limerick can confirm we will be hosting the Simon Open Door consultations on the 24th of April from 10am to 5pm at our office. Anyone wishing to discuss their projects; extensions, renovation, house designs, planning permission, BER issues, etc, etc should visit this site to make a booking. The RIAI Simon Open Door this weekend saw over 950 meetings between Architects and members of the public; this is a new record and we have raised over €50,000.
